Ankhon Dekhi – A Hope Amongst Bollywood Crap
Regular Bollywood is all about commercial cinema, the glamour, sex appeal, beautiful locations, extravagant sets, but thats not the only thing entertainment is all about ! There are some unusually rare gems of Bollywood cinema that stand apart, I would like to call then Indie Movies rather than the commercial Bollywood.
“Ankhon Dekhi” is one movie that stands apart and gives hope of descent cinema in the commercially dominated Bollywood crap.
The plot follows the life of Bauji (Played by Sanjay Mishra), bauji is staying with his brother and extended family in the house, one day they get to know bauji’s daughter is seeing a local boy who is thought to be more or less like a flirt and often seen with different girls.
In the turn of events, their family decides to confront the boy, but surprisingly Bauji thinks he is actually a good guy and its not right to believe in what you hear, its important to experience it first hand in-order to believe things. This is when bauji’s life take a turn and a beautiful journey begins.
Ankho Dekhi apart from its beautiful story, has very good visual aesthetics, the colors, the background, the cast, costumes, everything is so subtle and blends perfectly with the story.
Rajat Kapoor has done a fabulous job with Direction, the movie just flows, there are no abrupt scenes, everything is well connected and its an absolute delight to watch the movie.
The movie is available on Netflix and Hotstar, do watch it if your love good cinema.
I am leaving a couple of visuals from the movie just to keep you hooked 🙂
